Rhyme with Reason Noah's Ark is a wonderful collection of animal poems featuring fifty (50) different land, sea and sky creatures. Each animal is a metaphor for real human personality types or human experiences. All of the animals are framed such that the human issues they personify can be analytically explored. Parental guidance is advised, though, as some of the material is more suitable for a mature (high-school and up) readership. The book presents a complex array of human issues from a biblical perspective and is ideal for a wide range of readers and end-usages social studies classes, youth bible studies, home-schooling in language and literature, corporate team-building exercises, social worker counseling sessions, penal re-education programs, animal club awareness projects, or even art classes (sure! About the Author Nneka is a Canadian born Caribbean-bred writer who specializes in poetry, inspirational literature, journalistic writing and travelogue journaling. She has a special love for world culture and multiculturalism and is also something of a linguist. She speaks French, Spanish and Chinese at a conversational level, and smatterings of German, Korean and Japanese. She is also a budding artist who is able to produce beautiful, childlike art using simple lines and a masterful combination of colours. When it comes to writing, though, Nneka is a lady of literary craftsmanship having a creative command of simple language which draws her readers into a world vividly painted by inspired writing. Her poetry promises wide appeal. It is simply a treat.

This lovely book of poems has quickly become part of our nightly routine. I have two children - ages 5 and 7. Each night we read a couple of poems, and if ever a night I forget, my son is quick to ask, "Mommy, where's your Kindle? We need to read a poem!" The style of writing is easy and fun to read, and each character (animal) is truly unique. Each poem also has some fun facts about the animals, which makes it educational as well.As the author is quick to point out in the introduction, Parental Guidance is suggested as some of the themes are mature in nature. So you may just want to do a quick glance through before starting the poems with younger kids.
I am so thankful for a book of poetry that is able to combine fun, kid-friendly prose and rhyming - but one that has layers of deepness, points of healthy discussion (e.g. self-esteem, confidence, kindness), and animals that kids love to learn and read about.
Highly recommend - for adults and kids alike!

I just love these books, they are great works of art in terms of getting serious and highly important to getting moral and spiritual values across, in ways in which a child can easily understand, while at the same time bring enlightenment to the mature. I particularly love "Rhyme with reason", and in this book I truly love "Top Dog" with its allusion (Biblical). "Top Dog" takes I Peter 38 and strips away all insulation, exposing the bare wires of the word. It does this in a way anyone, regardless of age, would easily appreciate and understand the importance of being kind, courteous and mannerly. What comes to mind while doing this review is a line from H.W Longfellow's -- The day is done, "Come, read to me some poem,Some simple and heartfelt lay, That shall soothe this restless feeling, And banish the thoughts of day." Excellent work, great talent.

I am a grandmother now so I am always looking for books that I will be able to read to my grandchildren as they get older. I love rhyming stories and especially when they are meaningful as these are. This is a book that can be read time and again at different levels for the different age groups.It is one of those books that will last and last. I am very happy about purchasing this book.
